Áine Myler, CEO
Áine took up the role of CEO in January 2022 and is responsible for leading the mission and vision of CII, along with the Board, to ensure that the important work of our members and our sector has strategic recognition in our economy and society.
Áine is a senior business leader and Chartered Surveyor, with many years of industry and board-level experience. In a previous role, she was the Director General of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI), Ireland’s largest property & construction professional standards and regulatory body.
Throughout her career, Áine gravitated towards working with clients who often needed additional advocacy and support. She led and managed professional consultancies, building a strong business network with charities and not-for-profit organisations, public sector bodies and local authorities, often managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
She now serves as a Director of HAIL Housing Association & ChildVision. She is also a member of the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA).
She is a Fellow of SCSI & RICS, holds a Master’s Degree in Planning & Development Economics from TU Dublin and Professional Diploma in Arbitration from UCD.

Scott Kelley, Chief Operating Officer
Scott was appointed Charities Institute Ireland’s COO at its inception in 2016. In this role Scott oversees Cii’s operational policies, rules, initiatives, and goals. Scott helps Cii execute long-term and short-term plans and directives by implementing judgement, vision, management, and leadership.
With over twenty years’ experience in business operations, strategic development and sales Scott has a proven track record in stakeholder management, budget forecasting, and event management across multiple sectors in Ireland, Australia and the UK.

Mark Hughes, Director Of Communications & Membership Services
Mark has held the position of Director of Communications & Membership Services with Charities Institute Ireland since April 2018. Mark is responsible for developing and delivering Cii’s communication and members service offering.
Mark’s commitment to fundraising, volunteering, community investment and engagement is demonstrated through his career and education to date. Having previously worked with charities such as Barretstown, Temple Street Foundation, Trinity College Foundation and Special Olympics Ireland.
Mark holds a Master’s in Business Studies, BA in Community and Family Studies, Diploma in Innovation, Creativity & Leadership, Higher Certificate in Project Management, Diploma in Marketing, Advertising and PR and a Certificate in Fundraising Management Practice.

Annelies Coghlan, Education & Governance Manager
Annelies has special responsibility Cii’s Academy & Training programmes since 2017 having previously worked within the finance team. Annelies schedules the training calendar, coordinates the cross-disciplinary team to make sure the courses are on track, and conducts post project evaluations so that all stakeholders experience the best that Cii can offer.
Annelies previously managed R&D, e-Learning and e-Commerce projects in Skillsoft (formerly SmartForce), where she was responsible for developing interactive training software from planning through to fulfillment. Prior to that, Annelies served as EA to ICTR’s Executive Director, Sheila Nordon.
Annelies hold an MA in Geographical Information Systems from the NUI, and a BA in Geography and Archaeology from UCD.

Aideen Stapleton, Membership Support Administrator
Aideen joined Charities Institute Ireland in April 2023. She is responsible for supporting the Cii team delivering excellent services and experiences for members through member engagement & support, organising training courses & events, communication, and data management.
Before joining CII, Aideen worked for Irish NGO Vita as their Office Manager, Holocaust Education Trust Ireland as the Education & Programme Manager and as the Booking & Events Coordinator for Glasnevin Cemetery Museum.
Aideen holds an honours BA in Biblical and Theological Studies and Archaeology from Trinity College Dublin.

Brian Kelly, Policy and Research Officer
Brian joined CII in June 2024 as the new Policy and Research officer.
Brian is responsible for providing key sectoral research on issues impacting Charities and CII members, and communicating these issues to policy makers to enhance transparency, trust and support for Charities in Ireland.
Brian previously worked as the Development Officer for Age Action in the West of Ireland, helping to implement programmes to assist older people across the West and Northwest in rural communities. Brian has also worked with the HSE in supporting their Governance groups in the implementation of a new digital HR and Payroll platform nationwide.
Brian holds a MSocSc in Rights and Social Policy, as well as a BA in Social Policy and Sociology.
