| Trustees News |
Trustees play a vital role in providing strategic guidance and governance, ensuring charities can deliver essential services to communities across Ireland. Here we chat to David Bunworth, Chair of Dublin Cemeteries Trust.
Can you tell us a little about you?
I’m the former Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy and former Commercial Director of Aer Lingus. Throughout my career I held marketing-led roles at Guinness, Esat and Sterling Health. I’m currently the Chair of Dublin Cemeteries Trust.
What does being a Chairty Trustee mean to you?
On a professional level, it’s very important that you understand the role of the director. From a personal point of view you get a huge amount of energy because I retired from business ten years ago and I’ve got a massive amount of energy now working with good young people.
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a Trustee?
You’ve got to show integrity; you’ve got to show support.
What one word would you use to sum up being a Trustee?
Involvement.
