Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical Insurance Ireland, proudly part of the Benefact Group, has announced the Irish charities supported through its 12 Days of Giving campaign in December, alongside a summary of funding awarded to charities across the Ireland in 2025. The organisation has also confirmed that nominations are now open for its 2026 Movement for Good Awards.
12 Days of Giving
The annual 12 Days of Giving campaign recognised charities working across homelessness, youth services, community support and social inclusion, with over €120,000 awarded as part of the Benefact Group’s wider Movement for Good Awards programme. The Irish winners in 2025 included Childhood Cancer Foundation, The United Dioceses of Dublin & Glendalough and Donoughmore Community First Responders.
Funding awarded to Irish charities in 2025
During 2025, over €100,000 was awarded to charities across the island of Ireland. This included three major partnership grants totalling more than €50,000, supporting organisations delivering essential services:
Children’s Books Ireland, the national charity and arts organisation that champions every child’s right to develop a love of reading, received €21,800 to support its Every Child A Reader book-gifting programme, which delivers books to students across the country.
Tiglin received €12,500 to support the relaunch and expansion of its successful Wilderness Therapy programme — a personal development initiative for individuals affected by addiction, homelessness and social exclusion.
The Royal Irish Academy of Music, Ireland’s oldest conservatoire, was awarded €17,500 for its Play it Forward – Expanding Music Access campaign. This initiative supports young people aged 9–14 through free instrumental tuition and access to instruments, fostering the next generation of musicians in a high-quality, inclusive learning environment.
The Movement for Good draws, hosted throughout the year awarded €1K and €5K to a further 26 charities.
Looking ahead to 2026
Ecclesiastical Insurance Ireland announced that Tiglin has been selected as the organisation’s staff Charity of the Year for 2026. Throughout the year, the Ecclesiastical team will support Tiglin through a programme of fundraising, volunteering and awareness activities, with matched funding provided by the company. Ecclesiastical Insurance Ireland also announced that nominations are now open for the 2026 Movement for Good Awards.
The Movement for Good Awards is the Benefact Group’s flagship charitable giving programme, supporting charities across Ireland and the UK through public nominations and targeted funding draws throughout the year. Full details of the 2026 draw dates and nomination process are now available online.
