The Down Syndrome Centre and Re-Turn are joining forces to show Inclusion Matters

Charities & businesses across Ireland are invited to participate in the Inclusion Matters Re-turn Campaign, an inspiring initiative by The Down Syndrome Centre in collaboration with Re-turn.

This ambitious campaign aims to raise over €100,000 to support vital therapy services for children with Down Syndrome in Dublin, while also collecting more than 500,000 cans and bottles to promote sustainability and support Ireland’s recycling targets.

The campaign offers an innovative way for businesses to combine environmental responsibility with social impact. Participating organisations will receive Inclusion Matters bins to place in communal areas such as staff kitchens, canteens, or reception spaces. Employees are encouraged to use these bins to dispose of empty cans and bottles, which will then be collected weekly by Re-turn. The deposit from each can and bottle will be donated to The Down Syndrome Centre, helping fund therapy services for children with Down Syndrome. All collections and services are provided free of charge to participating organisations.

Why Should Your Organisation Get Involved?

By joining the Inclusion Matters Re-turn Campaign you will be:

  • Supporting Children with Down Syndrome: Your organisation’s involvement will directly contribute to therapy programmes that help children develop essential communication and life skills, fostering greater independence and integration into the community.
  • Promoting Sustainability: By helping to recycle over 500,000 cans and bottles, your business will actively support Ireland’s national recycling goals and contribute to meeting EU environmental targets.
  • Enhancing Your CSR and ESG Profile: Demonstrate your commitment to sustainability and inclusion while engaging your workforce in a meaningful initiative that aligns with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.

How It Works

  • Sign Up: Organisations can join the campaign by reaching out via email or phone.
  • Receive Your Bin: Specially branded Inclusion Matters bins are provided free of charge.
  • Effortless Recycling: Re-turn manages all collections and ensures that cans and bottles are recycled correctly.
  • Make an Impact: The funds generated from recycling go directly towards therapy services for children with Down Syndrome at two Dublin centres.

The campaign aims to raise over €100,000 and recycle more than 500,000 cans and bottles. Achieving these targets will make a tangible difference to children’s lives and Ireland’s sustainability efforts.
