Ergo, Ireland’s leading indigenous IT solutions provider has partnered with the ISPCA, Ireland’s leading animal welfare charity, to modernise its reporting processes for the rescue and rehoming of animals. This new system will bring the ISPCA on a digital transformation journey that will enhance its ability to deliver upon their mission of preventing cruelty to animals.
Each year, the ISPCA receives approximately 15,000 calls from the public. Prior to the charity’s digital transformation, the ISPCA recorded every call on paper files, logging all data and information manually. This system resulted in a huge drain on the resources of the organisation, with staff dedicating hours weekly to written logs that could be digitally streamlined.
To alleviate this issue, Ergo worked closely with the ISPCA on a pro-bono basis to develop a bespoke internal system using Microsoft Dynamics 365. The updated system now allows ISPCA team members to input, file and record all calls to the helpline digitally, completely overhauling and professionalising the ISPCA’s process. With all records are now digitised, this ensures the ISPCA’s objective of preventing cruelty to animals is more efficiently and effectively achieved.
Speaking on the partnership and the new system, Dr Cyril Sullivan, CEO of the ISPCA said:“The modernisation of our internal processes is having a huge impact on our ability to achieve our objective of preventing cruelty to animals. While before, hours were being sunk into logging, and often relogging, calls and complaints from the public, our new system allows for a more accurate and effective reporting mechanism that gives time back to our staff to carry out our core goals.
“We are now able to manage and allocate our resources more efficiently, with full access to real-time information from our staff and inspectors on the calls and complaints coming in. We wish to thank Ergo for partnering with us on this exciting development.”
The new system, implemented by Ergo will also be hugely beneficial to the ISPCA when involved in legal cases. With the new automated system, files and pictures required for cases can be prepared in real-time and held as a single store in digital form. Inspectors and legal teams will have stronger, more accurate data and evidence ahead of court cases regarding animal cruelty, meaning more animals can be protected and saved from unsafe conditions.
Coman Burke, Commercial Director for Ergo’s Digital practice said: “The ISPCA is a charity that is incredibly close to our hearts here in Ergo, and it was fantastic to get the opportunity to work with them on a pro-bono basis.
“As Ireland’s leading indigenous IT solutions provider, our digital team are uniquely placed to design and implement digital solutions that fix immediate problems for organisations such as the ISPCA, that can support them in achieving their long-term strategic ambitions. We hope that this partnership will bring hugely positive results for the ISPCA in the prevention of cruelty to animals. A big well done to the team who gave up their time to make this possible.”
With enhanced reporting and analytics, it will also help to identify patterns and hotspots for cruelty incidents across the country, helping in resource allocation and moving to implement preventive measures. Overtime this platform will evolve to support the wider organisation and support it to continue to deliver on its charitable purpose.”
