More than 230 qualifications were awarded at a ceremony held by Kare last week, marking the accomplishments of both staff and service users who had successfully completed a range of education and learning courses.
Held in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge and attended by family, friends and supporters, the event officially presented the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) awards, which are recognised within the National Framework of Qualifications as well as internationally.
This year’s recipients spanned many areas of Kare, including service users, staff, and Local Training Initiative and Community Employment participants, as well as some external students.
In total, 43 Major Awards, 19 Special Purpose Awards, and 170 component awards were presented, in areas such as General Learning, Intellectual Disability Practice, Early Childhood Care and Education, Computer Skills and Career Preparation. The awards were presented by Kare’s HR Manager, Austin O’Sullivan.
"Our annual QQI Awards Ceremony celebrates not just the awards, but the commitment and perseverance of those receiving them," said Deirdre Murphy, CEO of Kare. "These qualifications are more than just certificates; they represent the effort, growth, and achievements of individuals who strive to overcome challenges and reach their full potential, often while juggling other professional and personal commitments. We are immensely proud of every single one of them, and also thank the individuals who have supported them on this journey in different ways."
The awards underscore Kare’s ongoing commitment to providing quality training and educational opportunities, fostering an environment where both staff and service users can thrive and achieve their goals.
Course are run with support from the Kildare Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB), as well as the Department of Social Protection, who are Kare’s partners in providing training and employment programmes.
