Fundraising Summer School 2024

Looking back over an insightful, vibrant and inspiring two days at the Fundraising Summer School.

As the dust settles on a busy May, we're taking a moment to reflect on a whirlwind month of events, the highlight of which was the Fundraising Summer School. We’re pleased to share some photos looking back on two days of insightful discussions, innovative ideas, and inspiring individuals.

Held at the Chartered Accountants House 14-15 May, the Summer School was a was a vibrant mix of learning, networking, and celebration. The Open Space sessions, coordinated by Jean O’Brien, were a hive of activity, fostering a collaborative environment that allowed for free-flowing ideas and discussions.

Jen Shang’s session on “The Fundraising Taxonomy of Love” was a highlight. Her insights into the emotional aspects of fundraising resonated with everyone, reminding us of the human element in our work. It was a session that left us all inspired and eager to implement what we learned.

Cherian Koshy’s talk on navigating the fast-paced world of fundraising technology was enlightening. In an era where technology is rapidly evolving, his session provided much-needed guidance on leveraging AI in our fundraising efforts.

Day 2 of the Summer School started with the first ever fundraising walking tour of Dublin led by Kevin Delaney, who explored the history and development of the Irish charity sector through key sites.

We ended an action packed two days with a thought-provoking closing plenary, a conversation with Ailbhe Smyth, which left attendees with plenty to ponder on the future of fundraising.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks our partners at Ask Direct, our incredible speakers, who shared their knowledge, to the attendees who brought their enthusiasm, to our brilliant volunteers who helped the event run so smoothly and to our sponsors, Character Print, who helped to make it all possible.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
