Cii Congratulates Rachel Morrogh on CEO Appointment at Dublin Rape Crisis Centre

Rachel Morrogh assumes her new role at the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.

Charities Institute Ireland formally extends congratulations to Ms. Rachel Morrogh on her recent appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC), effective November 13, 2023.

Ms. Morrogh, formerly the Director of Advocacy and External Affairs at the Irish Cancer Society, brings a wealth of diverse professional experience to her new leadership role. Her background includes engagements with global pharmaceutical entities, international public affairs agencies, service at Oireachtas Éireann, and contributions to the Board of Trade in Canada.

Expressing her enthusiasm for joining the DRCC, Ms. Morrogh stated, "I’m thrilled to have joined the DRCC, an organisation that has a legacy of support, services, and advocacy going back almost 45 years." Acknowledging the growing demand for services, she highlighted that the organization supported over 18,000 contacts on the National Rape Crisis Helpline last year, emphasizing the long journey ahead to create a world free of the harm of sexual violence.

A graduate of University College Dublin with degrees in economics and politics, a master's degree in politics, and a diploma in leadership, Ms. Morrogh conveyed her honor at assuming the pivotal role of CEO. She underscored the significance of DRCC's mission in addressing sexual violence in Ireland and expressed her commitment to accelerating progress in this critical area.

In addition to her focus on addressing sexual violence, Ms. Morrogh outlined an ambitious growth strategy for DRCC, envisioning an expanded capacity to provide essential services, support, and advocacy.

Ms. Ann Marie Gill, Chairperson of DRCC, expressed sincere delight at Ms. Morrogh's appointment, stating, "We are delighted to welcome Rachel Morrogh as the new CEO. Her proven leadership and vision will be instrumental in guiding the Centre’s strategic direction as we enter a new and important stage of DRCC’s development."
