The special draw is designed for charities whose core charitable purpose is to support children and young people (aged 23 and under).

Nominations are open from Monday 6 November to Friday 10 November, and it’s quick and easy to nominate a charity. The general public is invited to go online at youth.movementforgood.com and cast their vote.

Winners will be drawn at random and the more times a charity is nominated the more chance it has of being selected.

The Movement for Good Awards has supported numerous Irish charities in the past with previous winners supporting children and young people – some examples include, Hughs House, Citywise Education, Ronald McDonald House, The Children’s Sunshine Home, Children’s Books Ireland, Kids Own Publishing, ECO Unesco and Little Blue Heroes.

Ciara Gallagher, CEO and Creative Director of Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership, said: “We have recently received funding from the Movement for Good for a new creative project, which will result in a new book publication created with Ukrainian and Irish communities, providing children with the opportunity to share their stories and creative voices. This book will have relevance for many children and different communities all over Ireland, and we look forward to sharing this work widely.”

I would like to invite other organisations to apply for this special grant focused on causes to support children and young people, as I know how much the financial boost can help a charity.”

David Lane, Managing Director, Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of the Benefact Group, said: "Having witnessed the positive impact of our Movement for Good Awards on organisations in the past, we wholeheartedly encourage the public to take part in this initiative. By nominating their preferred children and young people charity on the website, they can give them a chance to receive €5,000. We firmly believe that this financial boost can be transformative for these charities as they shape the future for our youth."

Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
