CHY3 Form Online

Revenue has now approved a number of solutions which allow CHY3 Forms to be completed online. (suppliers include but not limited to: iRaiser, iDonate, and Azure Communications

Cii Supplier Member, Azure Communications, explain how their CHY3 process online:

————————

Revenue has recently approved charities to provide an online version of the CHY3 form for their donors to complete.

Since January 2013, Irish charities have been able to claim back significant tax relief on donations under the Revenue Commissioners’ Charitable Donations Scheme. Once donors have given a minimum of €250 to the charity in a single calendar year, the refund goes to the charity and is made at 45%. Now, after a period of discussions between Revenue, the Charities Institute of Ireland and a number of suppliers Revenue has agreed on a new service, which allows charities to accept CHY3 forms online.

Azure Communications, who have developed their own system, are one of the suppliers authorised by Revenue to work with the Irish Charities in collecting PPS numbers and signatures online as part of tax mailings.

Charities are now able to incorporate the service to their tax mailings. This gives the donors another option besides the traditional way of filling the physical form and sending it back through the post. The new online form is facilitating the submission of the CHY3 form and improving its response rate.

What are the benefits?

The online CHY3 form brings several benefits to the Irish Charities.

1. It’s an additional way of receiving the CHY3 form from your donors. This gives them more freedom and improves responses.

2. It’s easier and faster for donors to complete. They just need to complete the online form and send it back through the Internet.

3. It reduces administration time for charities, as your staff won’t need to retype or scan the forms.

4. As copies are held in a secure online platform, it reduces physical storage space required. At the same time, they are easier to find when requested.

5. Improves donor response rates. As they are easier to complete and don’t require a trip to the nearest post office, donors are more likely to fill them immediately after delivery.

6. Immediate delivery to the charities. Once your donors finish completing and sending their forms, you have instant access to them through your charity’s web portal.

7. It cuts down the possibility of misplaced or lost forms.

8. Easy to collect and submit forms to Revenue. They are available wherever you are.

9. You get real time information on donor behaviour through your personalised dashboard.

10. When your donors update their information on the online form, you get the new data automatically into your system.

How it works?

The service offered by Azure Communications incorporates a personalised username and password to each of your donors into the tax mailing letter.

The donor can then log into their unique and secure portal by inputting the information into a browser or by scanning a QR code into their cell phones.

After logging, the donor is greeted on their personalised page and the CHY3 form is explained. On a second page, they get access to their partially pre-filled CHY3 form, which they can update if necessary.

The next step is to add their PPS number and signature. The form can be signed through their device or a picture of it can be uploaded.

When donors finish completing all the necessary steps, the form is submitted and automatically added to the charity’s database.
