UNICEF works to raise funds from individuals, corporates, major donors, philanthropists and foundations in Ireland, as well as to engage with the Irish government to promote children’s rights and secure national visibility for children.
About the Role
UNICEF is recruiting for a Major Donor & Foundation Fundraising Manager who will build on solid foundations in the area of major donor and foundational giving. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing UNICEFs major gifts programme, and building personalised relationships with prospects and donors.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Major Donor & Foundation Fundraising Manager will be responsible for meeting and exceeding agreed fundraising targets and objectives – including working with external and internal stakeholders to deliver a clear pipeline of prospects to maximise major donor / philanthropic / foundational fundraising income.
To succeed in this role, the post holder must have extensive previous experience of developing Major Donor/Foundation Partnerships in the non-profit sector, is proactive, confident, organised, with excellent communication skills and the ability to think creatively, build great relationships, win others over and “close the gift” when required. They will need to be a “people person”, genuinely interested in meeting other people, and an active listener. Additionally, the postholder will be passionate about leveraging UNICEF’s truly global reach by creating, managing and growing first-class major donor partnerships and philanthropic giving in Ireland to the best of their potential.
