National College of Ireland Launches Service Learning Initiative

Computer & Data Science students from the National College of Ireland are seeking 12 week placements with charities to apply their technical skills to support social good.

The School of Computing at the National College of Ireland has introduced a new Service Learning module as part of its BSc in Computing and Data Science programme. Through this initiative, students have the opportunity to undertake a 12-week placement with a local charity or community organisation, applying their technical skills to support social good.

Projects may include developing or updating websites, improving data management systems, or running digital skills workshops. The module enables students to engage with their communities, enhance their professional development, and contribute positively to society through the use of technology.
