SE Systems Community Fund Opens Direct Applications for First Time

€500,000 in Grants Available for Community Energy Upgrades Across Ireland

In a landmark move aimed at bolstering local resilience and sustainability, SE Systems has announced that, for the first time since its launch, the SE Systems Community Fund is now open for direct applications from eligible organisations across Ireland. This marks a significant shift for the fund, which has been quietly supporting grassroots efforts since 2022.

With a total of €500,000 in grant funding available in 2025, the initiative is set to support energy-saving upgrades in community buildings, enabling local charities, voluntary groups, not-for-profits, and sports clubs to create warmer, more efficient, and more welcoming spaces. Whether through better insulation, upgraded lighting, or reduced energy bills, the goal is clear: to help communities thrive in sustainable environments. By reinvesting in these spaces, SE Systems recognises that the true power of a building lies in the community it serves and that by reinvesting in these spaces ensures that local organisations can continue delivering vital services, even in the face of rising energy costs and climate pressures.

The SE Systems Community Fund was established with a clear mission — to help organisations that form the backbone of Irish society stay resilient while reducing their environmental impact. Backed by SE Systems’ commercial clients and supported through participation in SEAI’s Community Energy Grant programme, the fund enables practical, high-impact projects that benefit people and the planet.

At its core, the fund is guided by five strategic pillars:

  • Social Inclusion – prioritising access and equity for all, especially marginalised communities.
  • Community Wellbeing – funding improvements that support physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Environmental Responsibility – embedding sustainability in every supported project.
  • Lifelong Learning & Development – empowering individuals through education and skills training.
  • Active Communities – using sport and recreation to foster local pride and connection.

The decision to open the fund for direct applications reflects a growing commitment to transparency, accessibility, and broader impact. Until now, funding was distributed through partner channels. Now, eligible organisations can apply directly, giving them a more active role in securing support for their projects.

Applications Open 27 May -18 July2025

Community organisations across Ireland are encouraged to apply, especially those with buildings in need of energy-efficient upgrades. With grant funding available and expert support provided, this initiative represents a powerful opportunity for groups striving to make their spaces more sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready.
