Charity Sector News |
At GoFundMe, Irish charities are at the forefront of what we do. Since launching our charity product in Ireland in November 2021 we have seen more than 8,000 fundraisers created for charities on the platform. We are continuously seeking ways to better serve the charity sector on GoFundMe. With this in mind, we have partnered with Meta to create a new social sharing feature to further the impact for Irish charities on GoFundMe.
“Ireland is the most generous country on GoFundMe and that extends to charity. Around one in every five GoFundMe pages in Ireland is for a charity,” said GoFundMe CEO, Tim Cadogan. “This integration will unlock powerful new channels for kind-hearted Irish people to raise millions more for charities – and give organisations the tools to inspire a new generation of supporters to make a difference for the causes they care about.”
The new features on Instagram and Facebook will make it even easier for people to raise money for their favourite charities on GoFundMe by providing:
Enhanced sharing capabilities for charities and fundraising organisers that help fundraisers stand out in Instagram and Facebook feeds
Seamless Instagram and Instagram Stories integrations
Native donation experiences for GoFundMe fundraisers through Instagram
Real-time, dynamic progress bars and a new donate button designed to inspire action
We are so excited about these new features on Instagram and Facebook that will not only make social sharing easier for fundraising organisers and donors to amplify their impact, but will also bring along their online communities to help the causes they care about most.
This integration will enable more support for charities across Instagram and Facebook, platforms where more than 5 billion people worldwide spend their time, so get ready to receive even more support through GoFundMe!
For charities to leverage the new enhancements, they will need the following
