Charities Institute Ireland is thrilled to announce the appointment of Brian Kelly as our new Policy and Research Officer. Brian brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to social impact that perfectly aligns with our mission to represent the collective voice of our members and advocate for the values we cherish.
In his role as Policy and Research Officer, Brian will be instrumental in shaping our policy positions and driving impactful campaigns that resonate with policymakers, corporates, and the public. His responsibilities will include reviewing legislation and budget initiatives, developing strategic policy recommendations, and analysing economic trends and sectoral data. By leveraging these insights, Brian will help build trust and transparency in the charitable sector, support our strategic objectives, and contribute to both our economy and society.
Brian's background is both diverse and impressive. He previously served as the Development Officer for Age Action in the West of Ireland, where he was pivotal in implementing programmes designed to assist older people in rural communities across the West and Northwest. His role involved direct engagement with communities to address their needs and improve the quality of life for older adults.
Before that, Brian contributed his expertise to the Health Service Executive (HSE), where he supported Governance groups in the nationwide rollout of a new digital HR and Payroll platform. His experience in these roles has equipped him with a deep understanding of policy development, strategic planning, and the importance of effective governance, all of which will be invaluable to his new position at Charities Institute Ireland.
Brian holds a Master of Social Science (MSocSc) in Rights and Social Policy, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Policy and Sociology. His academic background complements his professional experience, providing him with a robust foundation for advocating for the charitable sector and advancing our mission.
We are confident that Brian’s skills, experience, and passion will make him a key asset to our team. His dedication to enhancing the lives of others and his analytical expertise will be invaluable as we continue to support and represent our members.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Brian Kelly! We look forward to the positive impact he will bring to Charities Institute Ireland and to the broader charitable sector.
Welcome aboard, Brian!
