ISPCC honoured with award for ‘hard-hitting campaign that showed no fear in exposing harsh truths ab

Cii members shone brightly at the PR Awards 2024, with ISPCC winning and Breast Cancer Ireland, Jack and Jill, and Barretstown also recognised.

In a celebration of outstanding achievements in public relations, the ISPCC (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) took home the top award in the Best Use of Media (Short Term) category at the Annual Awards for Excellence in Public Relations 2024. Their winning campaign, "For some children Christmas doesn't happen," highlighted the harsh realities faced by many children during the holiday season and successfully captured the attention and empathy of the public through a powerful and poignant media relations strategy.

The ISPCC's campaign stood out for its compelling narrative and strategic execution, which effectively leveraged various media platforms to spread their message. The recognition of this campaign is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and creativity of the ISPCC's in-house team. Despite being a smaller team, their innovative approach and passion for the cause propelled them to the forefront of the competition, earning them this prestigious accolade.

The Annual Awards for Excellence in Public Relations is a highly respected event that acknowledges the best in the PR industry, and this year, the Best Use of Media (Short Term) category was notably competitive. It was particularly wonderful to see the category dominated by other members of Charities Institute Ireland, with Breast Cancer Ireland, The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation, and Barretstown also making the shortlist. This strong representation of charities underscores the vital role that effective public relations play in advancing important social causes.

The success of the ISPCC's campaign not only brought awareness to the challenges faced by vulnerable children but also demonstrated the power of strategic media use in driving social change. The team at ISPCC should be incredibly proud of this achievement, as it reflects the organisation's commitment to advocacy and support for children in need.

Winning this award is more than just a recognition of their excellent media campaign; it highlights the ISPCC's role as a leader in the charitable sector, capable of mobilising public support and effecting meaningful change through innovative communication strategies. The entire organisation can take pride in this accomplishment, knowing that their efforts have made a significant impact and garnered well-deserved recognition from their peers in the public relations industry.

As the ISPCC continues to champion the rights and welfare of children, this award serves as a reminder of the importance of their mission and the effectiveness of their methods. It also sets a high standard for future campaigns, inspiring other organisations within Charities Institute Ireland and beyond to harness the power of media to raise awareness and drive social good.

The ISPCC's triumph at the Annual Awards for Excellence in Public Relations 2024 is a milestone worth celebrating. It highlights the exceptional work being done by charities in Ireland and the crucial role of public relations in advancing their causes.

Congratulations to the ISPCC and all the shortlisted charities for their outstanding contributions and dedication to making a difference.
