Ten years ago, GivingTuesday began with a simple idea – a day that encouraged people to do good. The movement has grown into a worldwide phenomenon inspiring a multitude of generous acts and reimagining a world where generosity is a part of everyday life.
The GivingTuesday Data Commons estimates that giving in the United States alone totalled $3.1 billion on GivingTuesday 2022. We'll share additional results and deeper analysis of giving, including global statistics, in the coming weeks.
This year 90 charities in Ireland ran campaigns for Giving Tuesday. You can read more about their activities here. Many corporates also got involved, a great example of this was from Top Oil who paid for all patient and visitor parking in Children's Health Ireland at Crumlin. A small, but a very welcome gesture to ease the burden of attending hospital. Thank you Top Oil!
To support the campaign and create public awareness, Charities Institute Ireland ran a series of radio ads on Newstalk, TodayFM, 98FM, Spirit Radio and Spin South West on Giving Tuesday. Take a listen to the ad here
Charities Institute Ireland would like to extend our thanks to our Giving Tuesday 2022 partners Toucan Tech, Salesforce, GoFundMe and idonate.
