On Fri 17th June, Newstalk invited Charities Institute Ireland CEO Áine Myler onto their Lunchtime Live program to debate on the topic of whether ‘Chuggers’ (people who approach you in the street asking for charitable subscriptions or donations) should be banned.
Debating with Patsy McGarry religious affairs correspondent for the Irish Times, Áine spoke about how the role has changed in recent years, with commission no longer being an employment model as well as how Charities work to stay aware of feedback and the perception that face to face fundraising holds in wider society.
Cii greatly appreciated the chance to speak on behalf of our members to outline the important role Face to Face Fundraising plays in many charities regualr incomes and sustainability.
