Our next CEO Forum will take place on 16 September at 11.30am.
1. Charity Strategy in the Post-COVID World: 2022 and Beyond – Joe Saxton, Driver of Ideas and Cian Murphy, Co Managing Director, nfpSynergy
In this session, Joe Saxton and Cian Murphy of nfpSynergy will explore the impact that the pandemic has had so far on all aspects of the public's engagement with charities, from giving methods to volunteering. They will look ahead to the future and try to predict which of these changes are temporary and which are likely to stick around in the "new normal", considering what your charity needs to think about when developing a strategy for these next uncertain years. The presentation will draw on nfpSynergy's research with the general public in Ireland and Britain, as well as our qualitative studies with charity staff in the UK.
2. Digital Accessibility – Making Web Content More Accessible for All - Chris White (CEO) and Kyran O’Mahoney (Chief Technology Officer), NCBI
The European Web Accessibility Directive was transposed into Irish law in September 2020. This Directive requires every State agency and non-State agency that is more than 50% funded by the State in Ireland and across Europe to have a website that is fully accessible to people with disabilities and by June 2021 this includes every mobile phone app. Despite this being a mandatory requirement, compliance is low and it is especially low in the sector most dedicated to ensuring equality of access and opportunity. Chris and Kyran will give a greater insight into the legislation, what it means and how your charity can become compliant.
