Campaign Townhall Meetings
We’re working on a groundbreaking new campaign to transform public perception of charities, community and voluntary groups, and social enterprises. And we can’t do it without you!
You are warmly invited to a special townhall briefing where you can help us to shape plans and inform thinking for an upcoming national campaign — the first of its kind in Ireland.
Simply click on your preferred date below and fill in the short RSVP form. Please note that all sessions are the same, so you don’t need to attend more than one.
About the campaign
Last year, a group of sector representatives came together to lay the foundations for a brand-new campaign, which would showcase the incredible value and impact of the charity and community sector to the public. The group included Boardmatch, Charities Institute Ireland, Disability Federation of Ireland, Dóchas, The Wheel, and Volunteer Ireland.
Since then, we are delighted to announce that we have secured funding from The Community Foundation for Ireland via its RTÉ does Comic Relief Fund to roll out this campaign nationwide.
This is a long-term campaign, which we envisage being delivered in various phases over the coming years. Every step of the way, we will support and equip staff and volunteers to raise their voice and shine a light on the incredible contribution of our sector across the country. From taking part in social media campaigns, attending training, and advocating with policymakers – the campaign will be multifaceted and practical.
We will conduct research into public opinion and sentiment towards the broad charity and community sector, and also consult at length within the sector itself. This will provide us with the material and insight to build a united campaign concept, messaging and brand informed by the lived experience of the sector on the ground while also addressing any information gaps or misconceptions the general public may hold.
The campaign will focus on elevating the story of the sector’s work so as to increase public understanding of what we do and why it is so important. To support this, the campaign will develop tailored training for the sector to upskill staff and volunteers in the areas of effective communications and storytelling.
A sector-led approach
We have been hard at work developing the foundations and the research base for this campaign. But before we go any further, we are eager to hear from our most important partners: YOU.
Please join us for one of the meetings to hear more about the campaign concept and to give your input at a Q&A session. Together we can shape the campaign the sector needs.
Again, please note that all sessions are the same, so you only need to attend one. Click on your preferred date below to RSVP.
We hope you will join us to hear more about this groundbreaking campaign and to play your part in crafting it.
We believe that by shining a light on the life-changing work happening in every town, village, and city in Ireland, as well as internationally, we can help the public to recognise the incredible value that nonprofits bring to their lives and the lives of others.
We look forward to taking this first step together.
Warm regards,
