JOB PURPOSE
The Data Analyst is responsible for managing MSF Ireland's CRM database, providing comprehensive data support for all our fundraising activities, and for the management of supporter care for MSF's supporters. They will enhance fundraising performance through the accurate capturing of data, data mining, and segmentation, and the analysis of trends and campaign performance - making recommendations where necessary. The successful candidate will play a key role in the effective implementation of MSF's donor recruitment and development programs across multiple fundraising channels. This is an important role in the fundraising team. Working closely with the UK database team and agencies. The candidate will be familiar with CRMs, ideally, Microsoft Dynamics, be dynamic, work on their own initiative, and have strong attention to detail.
DIMENSIONS
There is a small budget of €80k for database and ongoing database developments and module implementation. The role supports the fundraising team with data selection and ensuring the CRM is working and capturing all data in a timely manner. This role is vital to the delivery of all fundraising income streams.
CONTEXT
This role is vital to the delivery of all fundraising income streams. The DA is the primary contact between MSF and all 3rd party suppliers. This involves day-to-day management, identifying areas for improvement in service delivery, managing complaints, troubleshooting, and resolving any issues through a solution-orientated approach. The role reconciles the daily data flow between 3rd party suppliers ensuring donations are being processed accurately and in a timely manner and processes tax claims on donations for submission to the Revenue.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Understanding and mapping the current and future business needs of the team to create the roadmap development.
• Manage and maintain the CRM roadmap for development using DevOps.
• Writing the user stories for the new integration or migrations when needed
• Understanding the capabilities of the current system as well as assessing the systems' potential for development.
• Maximising the usability of the CRM for the fundraising team to ensure efficiency in supporter care, acquisition, and development. This includes decision-making on new entities and the implementation of and training of the fundraising team. Reviewing and implementing new systems, 3rd party API's and external applications that can improve the current system performance.
• Manage the commissioning and installation of new entities, as well as the customization of existing forms and entities & backend workflows in Dynamics.
• Lead on and manage all CRM development work, liaising and planning with system provider m-hance where necessary.
• Understanding the current data structures within the system and the impact on working practices that changes would affect.
• Managing all the system and UAT testing
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Develop database import specification documents, and set up new suppliers and campaigns in the CRM system. Set up data files and manage the importing of data and amendments to data files.
• Provide data selections, data profiling, and data mining to support the work of the Fundraising team.
• Maintain and develop systems to monitor the data flows between external suppliers and MSF. Manage the change in 3rd party donation processing suppliers.
• Generate and present data analysis to monitor income performance, which in turn informs future fundraising activity.
CHALLENGE & CREATIVITY / DECISION-MAKING
• The greatest challenge of this role is time and capacity. The DA is the primary contact for the third-party suppliers and ensures that all data uploads etc. are accurate.
• Monitoring and developing reports to create insights and support planning can be challenging when the BAU takes up a considerable amount of time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Experience with CRM database systems at a strategic level; working as a system administrator.
• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics or other cloud-based CRM systems
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in data management using a CRM preferably Microsoft Dynamics
• A proven track record in database systems management and development.
• Experience using Scribe or other ETL tools, Demonstrable track record of project management and delivery of CRM-related technology projects.
• An excellent level of numeracy combined with accuracy and attention to detail in the data processing.
• A proven understanding of the principles of direct marketing and the relationship to a CRM database.
• Proven experience in providing data analysis to support decision-making in fundraising investment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level including the ability to produce and manipulate data to inform Fundraising activities.
• Experience in gathering data from various sources and producing reports.
