Regional Fundraising Officer
Location: Cork – Hybrid approach
Contract: Full time, Permanent
The Regional Fundraising & Development Officer will play a key role in implementing the National Fundraising Plan in the Cork area, to engage public and corporate support and raise awareness of the organisation. In 2022, the goal is to raise in excess of €12.6m nationwide. Working closely with the whole Fundraising team, this position will play a key role in the delivery of Focus Ireland's fundraising target and broader brand and fundraising strategy in the Cork area.
What you will do:
Community Fundraising:
• Increase income opportunities from 3rd party events, individual fundraisers, or groups by building effective relationships and partnerships. Ensuring that donors becoming long-term supporters of Focus Ireland.
• Working with the Campaign's team, roll-out and develop key fundraising campaigns within the Region ensuring to reach recruitment and income targets.
• In conjunctions with Focus Ireland's Communication team, ensure local media is maximised for the promotion of campaigns and the work of the organisation generally.
• Develop and deliver the suite of creative materials required to support fundraising products (across school events, 3rd party fundraisers etc.) adhering to brand guidelines and managing third party suppliers.
Network and volunteer development and support:
• Develop key relationships with community groups and associations (GAA, Rotary, ICA, Scouts/festivals, and events as appropriate), and local chambers and businesses which can assist Focus Ireland reaching fundraising targets and building awareness.
• In conjunction with the Advocacy team, recruit, cultivate, manage, and motivate School Talks Ambassadors in the Region.
• Recruit, cultivate and manage volunteer committees to develop and drive localised activity assisting to reach fundraising goals as well as raising awareness of Focus Ireland's work.
Donor Development:
• Actively seeking new ways to promote the work of the organisation and engage with the public locally either through the involvement of local events or through the development and roll-out of appropriate activity.
• Working with the Regional Corporate Officer with prospects and approaches, assisting with identifying key Corporate or Major Gift prospects in the area
• Agreeing stewardship plans that will be rolled out to local businesses and those that require deeper engagement – this can include service visits, volunteering opportunities etc.
Finance, Budgets, and reporting:
• Cash-handling, receipting, banking, and acknowledgment of income in accordance with procedures set out by Focus Ireland.
• Ensuring all funds are correctly allocated against supporters on the CRM system and against the correct campaigns.
• Written monthly updates on participants, income, projections, adjustments as appropriate.
What you will need:

• Experience in event management and sponsorships/partnership development essential.
• Proven track record of delivering targets and working in a sales and target focused environment
• Highly organised with ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multitask
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both written and
oral, with clients, colleagues, and suppliers
• High level of business acumen and ability to develop highly professional proposals
• The successful candidate will need to show reasonable flexibility in relation to hours of
attendance to meet the needs of the work. Work during weekends, evenings and
unsociable hours may on occasion be required.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Own car and full clean driver's license essential
