Founded in 1986, ECO-UNESCO is Ireland's environmental education and youth organisation, affiliated to the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (WFUCA) and working to channel the passion, creativity and energy of young people into positive environmental action. How can you make a difference?
ECO-UNESCO is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Fundraising which will be the first paid specialist fundraiser role at the charity.
It is essential that the successful candidate has previous fundraising, sales or account management experience and the ability to connect with people to build long-term relationships with potential donors to generate unrestricted income.
Duties will include the following:
· Take the lead on the growth of unrestricted income, harnessing new and emerging sources of funding and building a strong network of supporters.
· Plan a pipeline of suitable funders / purchasers / investors and identifying other opportunities.
· Develop and deliver ECO-UNESCO's fundraising, digital and ecommerce strategy and programmes.
· Develop a coherent ECO-UNESCO service offering under a unified brand, ensuring alignment of CSR goals of potential funders with the mission, vision & values of ECO-UNESCO.
· Enhance existing programmes to cross-sell to non-governmental funders.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following experience:
· 5+ years of proven commercial experience, working at a senior level, ideally in a fundraising role in the charity sector.
· Experience of liaising with a wide range of stakeholders in the corporate sector.
· Success in developing new leads/sources and raising substantial funding from corporate supporters.
· Experience in applying for funding and reporting on outcomes.
· Ability to identify roadblocks and develop creative and timely solutions to overcome them.
