Job Title: Marketing and Digital Communications Specialist

Reports To: Head of Fundraising and Communications

Location: Hybrid Model

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Organisation

At ARC our mission is to provide psychological, emotional, educational, and practical support to people with cancer and those who care for them, through a warm, welcoming, and client-centred approach.

We provide care and support to people recently diagnosed, are in treatment, finished treatment, or caring for a loved one with cancer, providing survivorship programmes, complementary therapies, counselling and drop-in services. Founded in 1994, our services are confidential, professional, and caring, and are provided free of charge across our three Centres located close to the major oncology hospitals in Dublin, and via our online remote service.

Our Values

ARC Cancer Support Centre's core values underpin our mission, guide our behaviour and our decision making, and unify the organisation. These values, which are critical to our mission, are:

Empathy – We feel what the client sitting with us feels. We understand their experiences and emotions and offer unconditional compassion and empathy.

Confidentiality - Confidentiality is of utmost importance to us, as it establishes trust and creates a safe environment for clients to talk freely. We respect that all clients and members of ARC are entitled to privacy and have a strict Confidentiality Policy in place, in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Support – Because of a cancer diagnosis, many people feel fear, panic, isolation and sadness. ARC provides emotional support and a sensitive, understanding approach to help individuals accept and deal with their difficulties, their illness or the cancer diagnosis of a loved one.

Empowerment - The cancer journey can be painful and difficult, but we aim to empower cancer survivors to take an active role in looking after their own physical, mental and emotional well-being, to build confidence to face the challenges ahead, and to feel hopeful rather than helpless.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and versatile Marketing and Digital Communications Specialist who takes a holistic approach to marketing, with a focus on leading and implementing ARC's marketing strategies and fundraising campaigns to:

1.     connect and raise awareness with clients, service users and the professional community

2.     strengthen our online presence

3.     support the growth in raising the income needed to address rising service demands

4.     ensure a consistent and compelling brand message across all channels.

5.     grow donor engagement and retention through targeted communications and relationship-building initiatives.

This role will report to the Head of Fundraising and Communications, work closely with the Fundraising team, Head of Service Operations, wider internal team, and stakeholders to drive engagement, awareness, and participation in fundraising initiatives and in our services offerings. This position requires an innovative, data-driven professional who can align marketing initiatives with business objectives to maximise ROI, brand awareness, client and donor engagement and retention through targeted communications and relationship-building initiatives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in positioning ARC Cancer Support Centres as a leading charity in its sector, growing awareness of our services and supports among the public and professional communities and ensuring a strong and sustainable income stream through innovative and effective campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

·      Develop and execute an integrated marketing, awareness, communications, and digital strategy and annual plans and budgets to achieve organisational goals, enhance brand awareness, foster trust, and engage key audiences.

·      Manage digital presence and engagement, including social media, website updates, follower interaction, and response to queries, ensuring alignment with ARC's overall strategy.

·      Oversee the creative development process, managing internal teams and external agencies from concept to execution, ensuring high-quality and impactful campaigns.

·      Plan and assist execution of multi-channel fundraising and awareness campaigns (including ATL, BTL, digital, and experiential) to drive donor engagement, meet income targets, and promote initiatives like Torch of Hope and Dip in the Nip.

·      Lead donor communications and stewardship efforts, ensuring effective storytelling, regular impact updates, and engagement strategies that enhance long-term support.

·      Monitor, analyse, and report on awareness, marketing and fundraising performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategies, improve ROI, and measure impact on brand perception and audience engagement.

·      Support the planning and execution of key organisational and fundraising events through comprehensive marketing, PR, and public engagement strategies to drive participation.

·      Manage relationships with third-party agencies and suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and maximising value from partnerships.

·      Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring campaigns are executed efficiently, maximising impact while staying within financial constraints.
