The Opportunity

Are you a dynamic storyteller with strong media networks and a passion for global justice? Trócaire is seeking a dedicated Communications Officer to join our team. This role will proactively identify opportunities to develop Trócaire's public profile on key issues, leading the organisation's media engagement response to external events and political processes. Writing press releases, opinion articles, magazine features and other written materials to support Trócaire's campaigns to engage diverse audiences. Collaborating not only with our Communications Team but also with colleagues across our organisation and international offices, this role will also develop and maintain strong links with a wide range of journalists across all media platforms.

Requirements

You will report to the Communications and Media Manager,The job opportunity will be offered on a full time permanent contract and is based in Maynooth.

The ideal candidate for the Communications Officer role at Trócaire should be an experienced journalist or PR / Communications professional with a keen awareness for the evolving media landscape. They should have excellent writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality articles, statements and promotional materials to tight deadlines. A strong knowledge of the Irish media environment and a proven ability to build and maintain extensive

relationships with journalists is essential.
