About CUH Charity

Established in 2012, CUH (Cork University Hospital) Charity is the nominated charity of Cork University Hospital (CUH) and Cork University Maternity Hospital (CUMH). We work closely with the management team and healthcare experts at CUH and CUMH to identify the hospital's most pressing needs and provide financial support for all departments.

CUH Charity identifies a selection of focused appeals that require our assistance. We offer a wide range of opportunities for people to donate to these vital causes through organising and supporting fundraising events. Our work is very much a team effort, from the charity representatives to our wonderful volunteers and hospital staff. We encourage community involvement by offering opportunities for workplace and school fundraising, along with a wide range of other ways to give.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following the overall CUH Charity strategy and Fundraising strategy, develop integrated campaigns and community fundraising roadmap to contribute to delivering the overall fundraising ambition.
  • As we in the CUH Charity Fundraising team work to integrate our focus and activities, this role will deliver a fully aligned portfolio of fundraising events and campaigns that will meet or exceed budget expectations.
  • Develop new income streams through campaigns and community events to maximise targets.
  • Manage and support the Digital Fundraiser to ensure the full integration of all campaigns.
  • Manage the team and support the development of new regional activities.
  • Manage the Digital Fundraiser and support the roll-out of the new Digital Fundraising strategy.
  • Co-ordinate, review, and update the Fundraising Events Calendar.
  • Maximise exposure and recruitment for events and campaigns.
  • Ensure all data and information are up to date and recorded accurately on the database.
  • Lead the management and development of relationships with community groups and associations, faith groups, and schools, with a focus on inspiring the development of fundraising ideas and initiatives.
  • Create marketing campaigns to recruit individual fundraisers.
  • Coordinate CUH Charity presence at local community events.
  • Represent CUH Charity externally, speaking to groups with a good level of knowledge about the services CUH & CUMH provide, and be able to tell stories of the people who have been helped by our support.
  • Identify and share stories across our internal and external communication channels of supporter fundraising successes.
  • Ensure that data about fundraisers is accurately reflected on the fundraising database in a timely way.
  • Generate analysis and produce reports on community fundraising activities.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in achieving financial targets, keeping financial records, and producing budgets and reports.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, as well as part of a wider team.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to write compelling copy.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, volunteers, and supporters.
