Particulars of Office

The appointment is on a temporary fixed-term contract basis for a one-year period. The salary level for this post will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience for the role.

The post holder will be employed by the NRH Foundation. The NRH Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to raising vital funds for the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH), for adults and children.

Purpose of the Position:

This is a key role within the organisation with responsibility and accountability for the development, implementation and management of various fundraising and communications activities to ensure the strategic growth of the NRH Foundation's long-term sustainable donor/philanthropic income.

Qualifications

The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office, possess:

Essential

· Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role covering individual and Community giving, corporate and grant fundraising, with demonstrated experience of delivering on financial targets against each individual revenue stream.

· Educated to degree level or relevant experience gained in the voluntary/fundraising sector. Preferable to have completed a fundraising qualification.

· Demonstrated up to date knowledge of the donor landscape in Ireland and experience of developing networks to generate fundraising income.

· Experience of managing, planning and delivering on financial fundraising targets and budgets.

· Outstanding written, oral and presentation communications skills with the ability to translate complex research, statistics and data into engaging copy for a range of audiences.

· Working knowledge of fundraising databases or CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.

A proven track record in maintaining an excellent standard of internal and external oral, written and electronic communications to maximise engagement.

Extensive digital media/marketing working experience in the fundraising sector.

· Excellent presentational skills and the ability to make engaging pitches to external organisations and events.

· Effective negotiation skills with the ability to manage relationships with tact and diplomacy.

· Flexible and solution-focused, with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver on fundraising targets and to contribute to the organisation's strategic plans.

· Ability to develop and build positive working relationships with senior colleagues and a range of stakeholders.

· Highly self-motivated, creative, and determined with the ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.

· Flexible working approach and able to adapt quickly as situations develop and change.

· A high level of organisational skills and project management capability with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload whilst juggling numerous projects or inquiries.

· Full and clean driver's license and use of own car.

Desirable

· Previous experience of fundraising for a health organisation, advocacy or social welfare organisation within the not for profit sector.

· Passionate about the work and mission of the NRH Foundation and a knowledge of the services and research it develops.

· Membership of a relevant professional body.

The terms of the Voluntary Hospitals Superannuation Scheme and the Voluntary Hospitals Spouses and Children's Scheme will not apply to the position. This is a non-pensionable position.
