Direct Marketing Executive, Dublin

Location: Dublin

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The purpose of this role is to provide Focus Ireland's Public Fundraising supporters with the best experience possible, encouraging donor retention to maximise lifetime value and engagement whilst consistently putting our donors at the heart of everything we do.

What you will do:

  • To support the DM Manager in implementing fundraising appeals, including Easter, June, September and Christmas.
  • Liaise with key suppliers and coordinate printing of appeals; providing and summarising quotes and carrying out related internal processes.
  • Liaise with service staff, collect and record useable customer content, for fundraising appeals by way of interviewing and engaging with a range of customers across the country.
  • To provide relevant customer content to agency and remain the point of contact with service staff in all engagements relating to using said content in fundraising appeals.
  • Implement project management tasks including briefing and feedback and coordinate the internal approval process.
  • Assist with the delivery of supporter impact and retention pieces for regular givers; including new supporter letters and booklets, supporter surveys, and ongoing donor journey development; making timely changes to creative.
  • Provide relevant customer content to the agency and team; to develop and update newsletters, eDMs, other donor communications.
  • Assist with the delivery of new onboarding and welcome journeys for cash givers, including targeting, segmentation, making timely changes to the creative
  • Assist the DM Officer to work with CRM team to build automation and workflows into journey implementation.
  • Assist the DM Officer to work with CRM team to develop reporting tools for both regular and cash givers; eg around retention, attrition, opt ins, 2nd and 3rd gifts
  • Work closely with Donor Care on processing and updating new cash and regular givers, especially sending personalised letters where appropriate.
  • Conduct mystery shopping on Focus Ireland and competitors by making donations and assess the thank you process.
  • Research best practice thank you process and implement in Focus Ireland, using fresh content sourced.
  • Attend forums and training as appropriate, representing Focus Ireland
  • Take part in workshops, working groups and events as required across the Fundraising department.
  • Champion Focus Ireland values.

 

What you will need:

  •  Educated to university standard or equivalent in work experience.
  • Some experience in fundraising or marketing experience obtained from the commercial or charity sectors (an advantage).
  • Experience developing internal and external relationships.
  • Experience in a not for profit service user setting would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Budget and Project Management skills.
  • Reporting and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in a busy environment, prioritising activities appropriately and managing multiple, conflicting tasks.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Self-starter, able to maintain a positive and enthusiastic approach to meeting the needs of a challenging workload.
  • Problem solver.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
