Established in 1988, Cappagh Hospital Foundation raises funds for the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh's (NOHC) development, research, education, teaching, training and the provision of strategic patient support programmes to meet patients' needs and improve lives.

Cappagh Hospital Foundation is seeking a passionate and experienced person to lead and grow the Foundation in its mission to raise funds for the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh's development, research, education, teaching, training and the provision of strategic patient support programmes to meet patients' needs and improve lives. Reporting directly to the Board, this is a unique opportunity to lead on delivering the existing fundraising strategy, developing future strategic goals and leading the growth and profile of the organisation. This is an exceptional opportunity to have a real impact in this highly respected healthcare facility.
The Director of Development will design and execute ambitious growth plans for the organisation, across a number of income streams. They will work closely with the Board and existing small team to drive brand awareness and to raise the profile of the organisation and to build key relationships with our supporters and stakeholders.
1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
· In collaboration with the Board, implement and continually review the strategic plan.
· Develop and execute operational plans to deliver on strategic objectives.
· Develop measures and report to the Board on performance against agreed objectives.
· Develop and lead on all fundraising and communications strategies to achieve income and expenditure targets.
· Review and develop the portfolio and programme plans to deliver the best possible impact from supporter funding through affective, innovative and sustainable funding strategies.
Leadership & Management
· Drive effective corporate governance throughout the organisation.
· Ensure strong and effective NOHC stakeholder management.
· Manage, develop and grow the existing team in line with the ambitious growth.
· Developing a reporting framework for the Foundation with regular updates to the Board
Finance and Risk
· Monitor the performance of fundraising revenue, ensuring cash-flow and forward projections are sufficient to achieve strategic objectives.
· Manage the organisation's risks by ensuring that the risk and compliance frameworks are robust and effective throughout the organisation.
· Effective budget management of all costs and expenditure budgets ensuring all activity is implemented within defined budgets and cost ratios.
Marketing and Communications
· Creating a digital plan to drive website optimisation, supporter journeys and social media presence.
· Publicly advocate our vision, purpose, values and achievements
· Increase the profile and influence of Cappagh Hospital Foundation through the development of an agreed communications plan
· Act as spokesperson for the organisation with media and key influencers
· Further developing the organisation's reputation through effective relationship building, communication and collaboration
Fundraising/Partnerships
· Development and implementation of national fundraising campaigns and events
· Actively engage and manage key funders and influencers in the work of Cappagh Hospital Foundation
· Ensure acquittal reports are prepared in a timely manner for major funders.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
· Minimum 5 years fundraising experience at a senior management level with demonstrable success in income generation
· A strategic leader with considerable experience and proven results having led successful fundraising operations.
· Experience of managing finance and governance in the charity sector
· Strong analytical, planning and budgeting skills with a focus on return on investment.
· Experience in creation & delivery of fundraising strategy, budget and operational planning.
· Literate in digital marketing with demonstrated experience in digital fundraising.
· Demonstrable experience in writing compelling business cases & follow through.
· Strong experience in people and project management
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
· An enthusiastic and proactive leader with the ability to work collaboratively.
· An aptitude to work autonomously and be a self-starter.
· Ability to view change positively and problem solve in a creative and positive way
· Leadership, tenacity, and strong stakeholder management skills.
· Full time (35 hours per week)
· Permanent role
· Salary circa. €80,000pa
· Hybrid: based in Dublin 11 with home and office working
· 25 days annual leave
