The Education and Training Department focuses on our suicide prevention efforts and aims to work to help people avoid getting to the point where suicide or self-harm becomes a consideration for them.

The Education and Training Department provides information and psychoeducation about suicide and self-harm, mental well-being, and the supports that Pieta offer.

As a Community Education and Training Worker you will be responsible for supporting the Education and Training Development Officer with the development and delivery of a wide range of education and training programmes.

Location: Remote with travel required

Salary: €32,000

Hours: Full-time/ Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

Contract: Permanent

Role & Responsibilities:

  • To support the Education and Training Development Officer with the development and delivery of a wide range of education and training programmes
  • To actively participate in and contribute ideas to education and training programmes and assist with the development of materials and resources
  • Support in the delivery of training programmes using a variety of techniques, educational aids, and media (both online and face-to-face when appropriate)
  • To maintain accurate records of activities within education and training
  • Provide data and prepare reports and presentations highlighting key insights to support the Education and Training Development Officer
  • Work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Complete administrative aspects of role as directed by the Education and Training Development Officer
  • Contribute to the ongoing management of education and training requests
  • Support in the planning and co-ordinating of education and training events and participate in events where appropriate
  • If required, deliver training programmes and educational messages either online or face-to-face (when appropriate) to a wide range of audience

 

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Must hold a relevant Degree or Diploma qualification in education, training or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in an education and training environment
  • An understanding of the role of education in mental health and/or suicide self-harm prevention
  • Experience of developing and delivering educational resources and training programmes in a professional manner, preferably online
  • Relevant experience of working with a variety of age groups and audiences
  • Experience of promoting and creating awareness of educational and training programmes at events or online forums
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and work collaboratively with other team members
  • Is enthusiastic and resilient and consistently aims to deliver a high-quality service
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and results focused
