The Suicide Bereavement Liaison Service is a collaborative venture between Pieta and the HSE. The primary objective of the service is to provide a high quality and proactive support to families and community in the aftermath of a loss by suspected suicide, within a defined framework and protocol to the Louth/ Meath area.
The Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officer will provide support and guidance to individuals and families in the immediate aftermath of death by suicide. The role is based in Louth / Meath and requires travel across this region to meet and assist clients in their home. Pieta have a travel expenses policy in place for this role.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and networking skills in order to establish and maintain working relationships with agencies and organisations locally.
Role & Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the National Co-ordinator on day to day matters you will also be part of a national network of Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officers.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
(i) A recognized qualification at minimum Level 7 or higher qualification on the NQAI framework in Counselling or a Level 9 in Counselling Psychology.
AND
(ii) Be fully accredited as a Psychotherapist / Counselling Psychologist with one of the following accrediting bodies: Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP), Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP), Family Therapy Association of Ireland (FTAI), National Association of Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy (NAPCP), Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), Irish Council of Psychotherapy (ICP), British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), Irish Association for Play Therapy & Psychotherapy (IAPTP), Association for Psychoanalysis & Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI), Association of Professional Counselling & Psychotherapy in Ireland (APCP).
