Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: €33,000- €38,000 per annum

About FoodCloud

FoodCloud has a vision for a world where no good food goes to waste, and the only thing bigger than our vision is our drive. We are an organisation of doers driven by kindness, fairness, and a desire to help people and the planet.

Would you like to join an organisation that is passionate about tackling food waste and increasing social inclusion in communities across Ireland and internationally? Are you an experienced coordinator who would like to work for one of Ireland's fastest-growing social enterprises? If this sounds like you, we have the ideal role here at FoodCloud.

About the Job:

Volunteers are the beating heart of FoodCloud, serving as an essential part of our operations to help grow our impact and financial sustainability while controlling operational costs. The Volunteer Coordinator (Community Focus) sits within the Ireland Operations team and reports to the Volunteer Manager.

This role is primarily dedicated to our community stakeholders and individual volunteers. You will require strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teams across FoodCloud who utilise volunteer support to enable their work day to day or during targeted periods or events. This role is responsible for recruiting, coordinating and supervising volunteer involvement in these events in collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders.

Additionally, during the late summer and autumn, FoodCloud partners with farms to "glean" leftover crops after harvest as part of our corporate volunteering programme. You will support the Volunteer Team to deliver gleaning events throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Coordination: Deliver the day-to-day coordination, recruitment, scheduling, onboarding, and training of community volunteers to meet FoodCloud's operational needs.
  • Programme Development: Manage and develop the Community Volunteer programme to foster a positive and inclusive experience. This includes overseeing rewards and recognition programming, volunteer satisfaction, training needs, supply maintenance, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Communications: Act as the main point of contact for outgoing volunteer communications, including  recruitment drives, volunteer satisfaction surveys, newsletters, and pre-arrival information.
  • Event Support: Coordinate volunteers for once-off events and employee volunteering initiatives through cross-functional collaboration with internal teams.
  • Systems Management: Champion the effective use of our current Volunteer Management System (Vome) within FoodCloud and provide key input into the ongoing development of the FoodCloud VMS.
  • Data & Reporting: Manage data collection and reporting specifically relating to Community Volunteers.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams including Hub & Kitchen Operations, Communications, Community Development, Support and Fundraising to champion the effective management, appreciation and visibility of volunteers within FoodCloud.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify, develop, trial, and implement new processes to support efficiency and improve the volunteer experience.
  • Operational Support: Provide flexible backup to the wider team and occasional operational support to the Corporate Volunteer Programme as needed.
  • Travel & Flexibility: Undertake occasional travel to Cork and Galway hubs, as well as rural gleaning locations. Infrequent evening or weekend work is required to support events.

Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years' programme coordination experience (non-profit experience is an asset).
  • Second-level education required; a third-level degree or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to act as a FoodCloud ambassador and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Adaptable problem-solver with a positive attitude in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Proactive, innovative self-starter capable of prioritisation and managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Relationship-builder able to connect with diverse groups, collaborate within a team, and occasionally navigate difficult conversations with volunteers.
  • Strong presentation skills (experience delivering training or workshops is beneficial).
  • IT literate, particularly with GSuite.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional physical work (e.g., lifting produce crates).
  • Valid, clean full Irish driving licence required (manual preferred); access to a vehicle preferred.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and safeguarding practices. Willingness to complete FoodCloud-supported Emergency First Aid training (existing certification is beneficial).
