The Children's Grief Centre is a support service for school-aged children and young people affected by loss through death, parental separation or divorce. We provide a safe, confidential and supportive place for children, young people and their families who are grieving.

The Childrens Grief Centre is now seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer

We are seeking a self-motivated, values-driven leader with strong integrity, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to combine collaborative leadership with clear and effective management.

About You

As Chief Executive Officer you will provide strong and compassionate leadership to the Centre, ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements while guiding the organisation as it continues to develop its services and impact for children and families experiencing grief. Working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, funders and partners, you will help shape and deliver the Centre's strategic direction and future development.

This is a rewarding role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational management. You will play a key role in ensuring that the Centre continues to provide a safe, inclusive and high-quality service to the children and families it supports.

Essential Criteria

· A relevant 3rd level qualification in social care, social work, community development, education, mental health or a related discipline.

· A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience at senior management/leadership level ideally within the non-profit, social care, mental health, education, children's or community sectors.

· Demonstrated experience of leading and managing a team.

· Knowledge of financial management, budgeting and experience in grant applications & reporting.

· Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to charitable organisations working with children including safeguarding and the Charities Governance Code

· Proven ability in strategic planning, fundraising and sustainable organisational development.

· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrated knowledge of corporate governance standards and experience working within a Board-led governance structure.

· Strong critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills.

· Commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.

· Understanding of grief and its impact on children and families.
