Background and Purpose of Role

Established in 2006 Enclude is a leading Irish non-profit with a mission to provide appropriate and cost-effective I.T. consultancy services and solutions to charities. The organisation operates several programmes which provide charities with access to cloud-based CRM (Client Relationship Management) and Financial Management solutions.

The organisation is seeking an experienced accountant to manage financial operations before transitioning into the Head of Finance role. Initially appointed as Financial Controller, you will complete a 3-to-4-month handover with the current Head of Finance before their planned departure at year-end. This transition period allows you to master the business, embed within the finance function and team, and build critical relationships with the Business Development and Project Delivery teams. Upon completion of the transition period, you will assume full responsibility for financial strategy, organisational planning, AccountsIQ (AIQ) programme, governance, and leadership of the finance function. This role offers a mix of historical reporting and forward-looking strategy.

Reports to: CEO

Contract Type: Full-Time Post – 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working is supported.

Location: Coleraine House, Coleraine Street, Dublin 7, D07 E8XF.

Phase 1 Key Responsibilities - Financial Controller

Work alongside the current Head of Finance to ensure a seamless handover of duties which will cover

o   Delivery of monthly management accounts and P&L and Balance Sheet reviews and margin analysis. This will include delivery of monthly project deferred and accrued income schedules which are the basis for recognition of a key income stream.

o   Managing cash flow & forecast lookahead processes.

o   Work alongside the PMO & Projects Delivery Manage to ensure alignment between forecast project days and budget targets.

o   Lead the annual budgeting process.

o   Approval of monthly Payroll.

o   Any other tasks, consistent with your position, as requested by the line manager.

Phase 2 – Head of Finance 

Financial Leadership:

o  Provide strategic financial input and guidance to the CEO and leadership teams such as building pricing models for product and service offerings, driving margin analysis.

o  Play a lead role in the company's strategic growth & financial planning.

o  Lead, mentor and develop direct reporting lines.

Finance Management & Reporting:

o  Full ownership of the end-to-end finance function including monthly payroll approval.

o  Lead the annual budgeting process. Preparation of annual draft accounts for auditors,

o  Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and tax requirements.

Revenue Accounting:

o   Manage project finance and revenue recognition, ensuring alignment with budget targets, cashflow needs and the sustainable growth and development of the organisation.

AIQ Programme

o  Programme management

o  Provide assistance and support with client AIQ implementation projects.

Risk Management and Compliance:

o   Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and tax requirements.

Governance:

o  Preparation of financial packs for and attendance at bimonthly Board meetings, present financial reports (liaising with Board Finance Director in advance).

o  Act as Administrator for Banking Online Functionality.

o  Main lead with Company Auditors.

o  Participate in relevant management, staff and client meetings and support with strategic and operational developments and improvements.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

·        Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).

·        Minimum of 4 years' experience in a senior finance role and/or managing a finance function.

·        Demonstrated experience in operational cross collaboration i.e. ability to bridge the gap between technical accounting and business operations.

·        Experience in deferred income accounting.

·        Excellent management, planning, organisational, and analytical skills.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

·        Must have a valid permit to work in Ireland.

Desirable requirements

·        Experience in non-profit accounting & reporting.

·        Experience in project-based revenue accounting.

·        Experience in AccountsIQ.

TERMS

·        Contract: This is fulltime post, with an initial contract period of two years. Hybrid working is supported.

·        Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (full-time). Flexibility may be available on working hours, subject to negotiation.

·        Salary: €60 – 75K, negotiable depending on experience.

·        Annual Leave: 24 days (full-time).
