Job Description for Director of Fundraising
Background
Loreto College, St Stephen's Green is an all-girls, private secondary school located in Dublin city centre. The school is embarking on an ambitious campus development project that will see it empower the next generation of female leaders by developing a STEAM centre of learning in scientific, creative and innovative excellence. The college is now recruiting for a part-time, term-time Director of Fundraising. Whilst the role is based in Dublin city centre some work can be carried out from home (if desired).
Role Description
This role is a part time, hybrid, term time and flexible role for an experienced Director of Fundraising or Head of Major Gifts. The Director of Fundraising will be responsible for strategising and implementing major donor fundraising programs, annual and multi-annual initiatives, engaging with donors, creating communication campaigns and seeking out new fundraising opportunities. The role will include raising funds for the school's Campus Development Programme and Teresa Ball Access Programme. While this role is based in Dublin city for meetings and events, some remote work is acceptable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute fundraising strategies and activities that will generate an income of circa €500k+ per year for capital projects and for the Teresa Ball Access Programme.
2. Grow, develop and deepen relationships with the Loreto College Community of parents, staff, past pupils, friends of the school, corporate sponsors and relevant bodies.
3. Plan, coordinate, create and manage a suite of marketing materials, PR and social media programmes for both fundraising and past pupil network projects, which includes events, publications, press, social media posts and web developments.
4. Continue to support and grow membership of the past pupil network alongside tech systems and processes that will facilitate growth and connection.
5. Ensure supporters are thanked and recognised appropriately and on time in multiple ways throughout the year for both financial and non-financial gifts.
6. Develop, review and implement fundraising best practice, policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of professional, ethical fundraising is in place, negating any risk to the College.
7. Proactively work to embed a culture of philanthropy across the school.
8. Continue to build the Development Office to ensure the longevity of philanthropy across the whole school community.
9. Liaise with, report to and provide guidance to the principal SMT, Board of Management and any relevant sub-committees on development.
10. Build and strengthen relationships with the Parents' Association, Green Past Pupils' Association and other relevant parent and past pupil groups.
Experience/Skills:
1. Demonstratable evidence of ability to raise sustainable income targets of more than €500k per year
2. Five years + experience in leading and implementing long term major gift and capital fundraising programmes.
3. Experience in prospect research, qualification and relationship development
4. Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to think strategically and present to large groups
5. Experience in creating and managing events, marketing materials and messaging
6. Experience in working alongside boards and sub-committees
7. Understanding of donor care journeys and how they are implemented
8. Proficiency in managing CRM systems
9. Up-to-date knowledge of fundraising best practice
10. Robust, confident, 'can-do' attitude that thrives on challenges and remains calm under pressure.

13. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
