The Organisation

Early Childhood Ireland is the leading children's advocacy and membership organisation. We work in partnership with our members to achieve quality experiences for every child in Early Years and School Age care settings. We advocate for an effective and inclusive Early Years and School Age care system which values, supports, and invests in childhood, children and services.

 

The Role

This role is a key part of the Policy, Advocacy and Campaigning team, helping to strengthen Early Childhood Ireland's voice for young children, settings, and the Early Years and School Age Care system. The Press Officer will raise the organisation's national media profile by delivering the agreed media plan, identifying opportunities to increase awareness of the value of high-quality Early Years and School Age Care, and showcasing child-centred practice in our members settings.

 

 

Who you are:

An experienced Press officer, with a specific and evidenced focus on media relations and a 3rd level qualification in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or similar

Ability to take initiative and potential to provide leadership when needed

A communicator, organiser, and team player—bring your best to every task!

Passionate about change? Ready to work to make a difference for children and society.

 

Salary and Key Benefits:

A salary in the range €38,315 to €45,159 is offered. The agreed salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This is a full-time post reporting to the Media Manager.  The contract is permanent subject to funding, and the probationary period is six months.
