St John of God Foundation supports vital health and social care services across Ireland, improving the lives of people experiencing intellectual disability, mental health challenges, addiction, and homelessness. We are at an exciting inflection point — a new five-year fundraising strategy, modern systems infrastructure, and genuine ambition to grow.
We are now looking for an exceptional Head of Individual Giving and Supporter Care to lead one of the most important roles in the organisation.
This is a genuinely new role — bringing Individual Giving and Supporter Care together under one senior leader for the first time. You will own and champion the relationship with every individual donor, ensuring every supporter is treated as a valued partner in our mission, not simply a source of income.
Our infrastructure is now in place: a new donation platform, Salesforce CRM integration, a new email provider, and a new website in development. The building blocks are ready. What we need is the right person to make their mark. There is also significant opportunity available from day one — including a tax reclaim programme (€300k–€400k target), cross-selling, reactivation, and a supporter email file to grow from 5,000 to 15,000 in 2026 alone.
We are looking for a strategic, supporter-first leader who is energised by the prospect of building something genuinely new. You will bring:
–Individual Giving expertise: Significant experience across regular giving, cash appeals, digital and multi-channel campaigns — with a proven track record of growing income against ambitious targets
–Supporter-first philosophy: A genuine belief that fundraising is about inspiring people, not just persuading them — and that every communication should leave a donor feeling better than before
–Commercial acumen: Strong financial rigour in budget and income management, with the ability to forecast, model ROI, and reforecast based on performance
–Analytical thinking: A data-led approach to decision making — comfortable with CRM, LTV tracking, and using insight to optimise campaigns and supporter journeys
–People leadership: Experience leading and developing a team — setting KPIs, managing performance, and building psychological safety and an inclusive culture
–Compliance knowledge: Working knowledge of Charities Regulator (Ireland), Fundraising Regulator (UK), GDPR, Revenue Commissioners and HMRC requirements
–Mission commitment: Genuine passion for the Foundation's mission — improving the lives of people experiencing intellectual disability, mental health challenges, addiction and homelessness
Knowledge of the Charity Tax Back Scheme (ROI) and/or Gift Aid (UK/NI) is a distinct advantage
