Hours: Full-time – 35hrs Hours pw - Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm

Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin 4 office) working

Office Days: Office attendance days are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Salary: €31,500 per annum

What you'll do:

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to play a key role on a busy finance team. The role will involve performing a variety of admin and income processing tasks relating to the activities of the finance department. The successful candidate will have the ability to quickly gain knowledge of all aspects of the role. The ability to input information accurately in a high-volume data processing environment is essential for this role.

This role will suit a proactive, diligent, and process-oriented individual, with strong communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, who is looking for a challenge in one of Ireland's leading charities.

 

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH:

The Finance Department provides a range of financial services in support of the Society's primary mission. It is led by the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and the Head of Finance, and is supported by the Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, Payroll Officer, Accounts Assistant, Gift (Income) Processing Coordinator, and Finance Administrator. 

 

The successful candidate will carry out the following duties:

Income Processing:

·      Ensure daily income processing activities are carried out in a timely manner.

·      Complete daily post summary sheet.

·      Scan income back-up and cheques.

·      Record donor details and donations (income) on the CRM system.

·      Create daily income batches on the CRM system.

·      Resolve any queries with the Fundraising team promptly.

·      Process bank deposits and resolve any queries.

·      Arrange cash security collections.

·      Be responsible for cash-related aspects relating to fundraising campaigns.

·      Assist with month-end procedures.

·      Provide cover for Gift (Income) Processing Coordinator.

 

Charity Shops:

·      Review Excel cash sheets from the 21 charity shops.

·      Reconcile charity shop income to the bank.

·      Import charity shop income to the CRM system.

·      Resolve any queries with shop managers promptly.

·      Manage email communications with the charity shops.

 

Other Finance Work:

·      Process a number of weekly and monthly payments files.

·      Generate payment and donation requests for the organisation.

·      Assist with audit queries.

·      Ensure compliance with GDPR requirements.

·      Complete ad-hoc work as required.

Admin Work:

·      Be responsible for opening post, in accordance with the relevant guidelines.

·      Complete admin work, e.g. filing.

·      Perform other non-routine duties as required.

·      Be willing to occasionally work outside of normal working hours.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

The successful candidate will:

·      Be thorough in their approach to work, with a high level of attention to detail.

·      Be self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines in a professional and timely manner.

·      Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Be able to multi-task.

·      Be proactive and comfortable working on their own initiative, and as part of a team.

·      Possess the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality at all times.

·      Be available to work in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

·      1-2 years relevant work experience in an office-based environment.*

·      Data-entry experience using a CRM database.

·      Experience using MS Excel and Word.

·      Fluent spoken and written English.

*Note: the Irish Cancer Society measures experience by the quality of the experience gained, rather than number of years worked.

 

Advantageous to have:

·      A third-level qualification in a relevant field.*

·      Experience working with MS Dynamics (training will be provided).

·      Relevant experience gained working as part of a finance team.

·      Cash-handling experience.

*Note: additional relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal education qualification.
