Role Purpose

The Membership & Partnerships Officer plays a key role in strengthening relationships with Cii members and corporate partners. Working closely with the Director of Membership and Communications and the wider team, the role supports partnership development, member engagement, communications, event delivery and organisational initiatives that maximise impact across the sector. This role suits someone who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders, takes pride in delivering high-quality service, and contributes positively to a collaborative team environment. 

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Partnerships & Funding

  • Support the Director of Membership and Communications in nurturing existing partnerships and identifying new opportunities for collaboration and income generation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate partners, supporting coordinated activities and shared objectives.
  • Contribute to developing new project ideas with prospective and existing partners.
  • Lead and support event-based initiatives with corporate partners, taking responsibility for specific projects where required.
  • Monitor and report on partnership activity to ensure clear internal and external communication.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of grant funding applications aligned with Cii’s strategic priorities.

Member & Network Engagement

  • Respond to membership queries and develop membership communications and information materials.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of Cii peer networks, including CEO, HR, Finance, Fundraising and Data Networks.
  • Work with network chairs to plan meetings, secure speakers, and manage logistics.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of key Cii events, including the Summit, Summer School and training programmes.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with members to support engagement and overall satisfaction.

Digital Transformation Support

Work with the team to support the implementation of Cii’s new CRM and website, scheduled for launch in 2026.

Support the adoption of digital tools that enhance member and partner experience and internal efficiency.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • At least one year of experience in relationship management, membership, stakeholder engagement or a similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills, including experience coordinating events or programmes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage agreed projects and report clearly on progress and outcomes.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office 365 and experience using CRM systems, with a willingness to continue learning.
  • An understanding of, or interest in, the charity and non-profit sector is an advantage.
