About FoodCloud

FoodCloud (CHY21177) is a fast-growing Dublin-based social enterprise with a vision for a world where no good food goes to waste.  We turn surplus food into stronger communities by making sure good food reaches those who need it most.

Our not-for-profit social enterprise redistributes perfectly good surplus food at scale. Globally, we bring together a thriving network of dedicated people, businesses, and community partners with our world-class technology to support thousands while significantly reducing the environmental impact of food waste.

FoodCloud Impact

The world produces enough food to feed all 8.2 billion people. Despite this, 673 million people went hungry for part or all of 2024. In fact, 40% of food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted across the food system. At the same time, if food waste were a country, it would be the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions, after the US and China. In Ireland, we waste over 1 million tonnes of food each year.

Every day, the people and partners of FoodCloud work tirelessly together to turn surplus food into positive social and environmental change. Turning potential endings into new beginnings. Currently, this work empowers over 3,500 supermarkets to donate to over 8,000 charities across the UK, Ireland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Kenya.

In Ireland, vast volumes of surplus food are redistributed weekly via our three warehouses in Dublin, Galway, and Cork. This results in over one million perfectly good meals being shared in communities across Ireland who need them.

About the Head of Marketing Job

We are seeking a senior, hands-on Head of Marketing to own and deliver FoodCloud's marketing plan during a critical phase of growth.

This is a “leading and doing” role. The successful candidate will be personally accountable for both strategy and execution – setting direction, producing high-quality work, making decisions, and ensuring delivery across brand, content, digital, media, and partner communications.

Marketing at FoodCloud plays a critical role: it must drive understanding, adoption, funding, partnership, and credibility. This role exists to ensure that happens – consistently, efficiently, and at scale.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, growth, and culture, and works closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to ensure that marketing activity actively supports organisational objectives. Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication, as well as the ability to navigate the complex and make it simple are central to success in this role.

  • Ensure community, partner and stakeholder voices are used accurately, respectfully and effectively.
  • Develop and coordinate a lean network of external creative support (freelancers, creators and advocates), prioritising mission fit, collaboration and value for money.

Digital, Media & Growth Marketing

Internal Communications

  • Own internal communications delivery in collaboration with the Head of HR to
  • Ensure teams are informed, aligned and equipped with clear messages they can use.

  • Manage the communications budget, forecasting needs, tracking spend and demonstrating value for money
  • Establish clear processes for briefing, prioritisation, workflow management, inbound request triage and quality assurance.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders to align marketing priorities with organisational capacity and goals.

  • Track record of producing high-quality content and campaigns, not just overseeing them
  • Experience managing small teams, freelancers and agencies with clear accountability
