Role Overview

Turn2Me is a national mental health charity. It offers up to six free counselling sessions to adults living in Ireland, free support groups, a free meditation programme and free helpful articles, all online on Turn2Me.ie. It helps around 10,000 people every year.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Turn2Me provides strategic, operational, and mission driven leadership for the organisation. The CEO ensures that Turn2Me delivers high quality, accessible, and innovative mental-health support to people across Ireland through its online counselling, peer-support groups, and digital wellbeing services. The role involves overseeing service delivery, safeguarding, governance, public advocacy, and the overall growth and sustainability of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement Turn2Me's long-term strategic vision to expand and enhance its online mental health services.
  • Ensure that all programmes align with the organisation's mission to provide timely, accessible, and evidence-based mental-health support.
  • Lead the Turn2Me team as well as organisational planning, innovation, and digital service development.

 

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the organisation including managing the Clinical Manager who oversees Turn2Me's online counselling, support groups, and digital wellbeing services.
  • Ensure high standards of service quality, including working with our Clinical Manager to ensure adequate supervision, training, and support for counsellors, moderators, and volunteers.

 

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with legal, data-protection, clinical, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain robust protocols for client safety, confidentiality, and ethical care.

 

Data, Quality & Innovation

  • Use data insights to evaluate service impact, identify emerging needs, and guide continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development of digital tools and platforms that enhance accessibility and user experience.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and report outcomes to funders and the board.

 

Advocacy & Public Engagement

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for Turn2Me, representing the organisation in media, campaigns, and public forums.
  • Advocate for improved mental-health support, digital accessibility, and early-intervention services nationwide.
  • Build Turn2Me's public profile and strengthen trust with communities and stakeholders.

 

Partnerships & Funding

  • Cultivate strong relationships with funders, philanthropic partners, and government bodies.
  • Secure sustainable funding to support programme delivery, staff development, and technological innovation.
  • Collaborate with mental health organisations, charities, and policymakers to strengthen national support structures.

 

Governance & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance, transparency, and organisational accountability.
  • Provide regular updates on service performance, financial health, strategic progress, and operational challenges to the board
  • Foster a positive organisational culture that prioritises empathy, inclusion, professionalism, and continuous learning.

 

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in the charity or NGO sector.
  • Strong understanding of online mental-health service delivery, crisis support, and safeguarding responsibilities, or ability to quickly learn same.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, communication skills, and public-representation abilities.
  • Commitment to Turn2Me's mission of providing free, accessible, and immediate mental-health support to people when they need it most.
