Title: Project and Change Manager

Reports to: Head of Strategic Programmes

Contract type: Two positions available - One Permanent role & one 1-year fixed term contract.

Hours: Full-time 35 Hours pw - Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm

Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin 4 office) working

Office Days: Dublin 4 Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday

What you'll do

As a Project and Change Manager, you will lead people-centred strategic projects that drive organisational change and integration. From service improvements and digital adoption to cultural initiatives, you will ensure smooth transitions and strong engagement across teams. Your role will be to support the Strategic Programme Management Office (PMO), project manage individual strategic projects, and provide change management advice and support to projects. You will be a champion for the strategy implementation programme, working to embed project and change management practices across the Society.

 

You will manage projects across multiple departments, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and risks are mitigated. You will also lead the collation of reporting across teams and functions, consolidating project insights to provide accurate, timely, and insightful updates for presentation to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) under the guidance of your line manager.

Project management

·      Manage the end-to-end delivery of assigned strategic projects.

·      Work with stakeholders to understand project objectives and scope, and translate this into a clear project brief.

·      Develop realistic and understandable project plans, including resource and financial plans as needed, for projects.

·      Track and monitor project delivery against plan, using clear reporting tools, and manage project delivery and the project team.

·      Identify and manage project risks, identifying mitigation opportunities and escalating as appropriate.

·      Close out projects successfully, including developing lessons learned and ensuring ongoing benefits tracking.

·      Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and beneficiaries to promote collaboration and successful delivery.

·      Based on your skill set and experience, you may also take on additional delivery roles within a project.

Change management

·      Adopt and influence a structured approach and methodology for change management across specific projects.

·      Conduct change impact assessments, assess change readiness and conduct stakeholder identification and mapping.

·      Develop project communications plans, and design and deliver effective communications materials and outputs to support change.

·      Support alignment across change activity at an organisational level.

Supporting the PMO function

·      Support effective programme management, including programme reporting, risk management and programme alignment.

·      Support the establishment and uptake of project management tools and resources in the Society, including the use of project management software.

·      Champion project and change management and encourage uptake and application of project and change management approaches.

·      Build capability in project and change management across the Society, including by providing informal advice and support, and designing and delivering training.

·      Undertake other duties as required to support the successful delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives.

·      Technology savvy: you will have a high level of proficiency in technology tools, understand the benefits that technology can bring and can see opportunities for technology led enhancements.

Your qualifications and experience

·      Recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK, PMP) is preferable. If not, you will be able to demonstrate equivalent hands-on experience in bringing rigour and method to project and change management.

·      Have 3 years' practical experience in project and change management, for example leading smaller projects or leading a change workstream within a larger organisational transformation projects. The Society measures experience based on the quality of the experience obtained, rather than in time passed and welcomes applicants at all stages of their career.

·      Passionate about project and change management, and able to translate that passion to others.

Hold experience in one or more of the following areas:

·      Digital transformation and/or technology adoption

·      Requirements gathering, business analysis or user experience design

·      Process mapping and process improvement

·      Project and programme management software

·      Experience working in the not-for-profit or public sector
