About the Development Department:

The Development Department is responsible for RCSI's fundraising and manages engagement with Alumni, Fellows and Members; currently a team of 14. The Development Department plays an increasingly important role in delivering RCSI's ambitions through the RCSI_TOMORROW campaign; a comprehensive campaign to achieve significant and long lasting impact on global health via disciplined and strategic philanthropic initiatives in education and research. Achievement of the campaign goal will require the ongoing growth of donors from all constituencies; foundations, corporations, alumni and individuals who support RCSI's ambition.

About the Role:

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will be integral within RCSI's Development function, taking responsibility for identifying and executing on corporate revenue streams, delivering increased and sustainable income from the corporate sector and account managing RCSI's  philanthropic corporate partnerships.

The desired candidate will be able to work independently to build new corporate partnerships, and manage and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders across the university to ensure that RCSI's corporate partnerships are successfully and consistently managed and stewarded.

Key Duties:

The successful candidate will;

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all corporate interactions across RCSI in order to identify how to leverage relationships for maximum mutual benefit;
  • Lead on a strategy to maintain and identify new corporate funding streams for RCSI, through philanthropic donations, sponsorship opportunities and education grants;
  • Identify, cultivate and manage a portfolio of corporate partners, supporters and prospects;
  • Lead and manage RCSI's existing corporate relationships to ensure excellent service for corporate partners to secure continued income;
  • Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of all corporate prospects to maximise long term income generation;
  • Develop high quality materials including bespoke corporate funding proposals (for a broad range of activities including campaign projects and sponsorship of Development Office activities and university conferences and events);
  • Build excellent relationships across internal teams and departments to ensure successful management of new and existing relationships;
  • Work to financial targets and drive activity to ensure targets are met;
  • Develop regular reports for internal and external stakeholders and partners;
  • Work independently to build relationships with corporate stakeholders at a senior level;
  • Manage the administrative tasks associated with developing and maintaining corporate income and support;
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required or assigned by the Director of Development to support and contribute to the overall success of the Development Department and RCSI.

 

Core Competencies: Essential

  • Third level qualification; degrees in such areas as business administration, communications,  marketing or social science;
  • A proven track record of a consultative approach to corporate fundraising, corporate business development or corporate account/relationship management;
  • Demonstrable experience of leading strategic or programme planning, monitoring and evaluation skills including experience of selling, negotiating and influencing;
  • Experience in establishing corporate giving relationships at a 5-figure and above level;
  • An understanding of the motivations, needs and operating models of the corporate sector;
  • Excellent customer service skills to build relationships internally and externally;
  • Time management, organisational and prioritisation skills;
  • A positive and resilient manner with the ability to work under pressure;
  • Flexibility with work and a demonstrable commitment to teamwork;
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach to work.

 

Core Competencies: Desirable

  • Proven, successful track record in achieving and exceeding financial targets;
  • Experience of using CRM database software (Microsoft Dynamics).
