Location: Dublin

Reporting to: Head of Internal Systems

Contract: Indefinite Duration 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: €57,000 - €60,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities 

Data Strategy and Governance:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, data strategy and data governance framework. This includes enhancing and documenting FoodCloud's unified data model, integrating and standardising data sources, and enhancing reporting capabilities. 
  • Manage internal stakeholders and leverage external expertise where needed to achieve the objectives outlined in our roadmap, aligning with best practices, industry standards, international frameworks, and current and future regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Locate and define new process and system improvement opportunities and where innovative technology solutions can support FoodCloud's strategic goals.
  • Plan the roadmap and report on the progress of projects, including the development and maintenance of data pipelines.


Data Engineering and Pipeline Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and ensure efficient data flow between systems.
  • Implement monitoring mechanisms to proactively identify and address data quality issues, ensuring stable reporting and accurate data across systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain and resolve issues related to core operating systems and integrations, and provide guidance on escalation and resolution processes.


Reporting and Analytics:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive operational reporting suite in consultation with key stakeholders and user groups, aligning with the overall business strategy..
  • Collaborate with other tech teams including our external facing product development to support the design and implementation of a customer reporting offering and related data structures. This includes a cross functional tech dev community with the Director of Engineering, architecture team and customer Solutions team.
  • Lead and oversee a cross functional team to conduct data analysis and modeling to generate actionable insights and recommendations. Present findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders


External Engagement and ESG Reporting:

  • Lead FoodCloud's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and impact reporting, ensuring our data and insights demonstrate measurable social and environmental outcomes.
  • Collaborate with partners such as food bank networks, external experts or consultants, and government agencies to advance innovative and ethical data practices, including initiatives like carbon emissions tracking and social impact metrics.
  • Represent FoodCloud in external communications and events, using data-driven insights to showcase our achievements and influence positive change across the sector.
  • Create and deliver regular reports and presentations that showcase the company's achievements, using data and analytics to support key messages.


Leadership and People Management:

  • As part of our Organisational Excellence team, lead and develop FoodCloud's Data and Insights capability. This includes direct line management of an initial small team and opportunity to develop a multi year plan for expansion with a diverse mix of colleagues and skills.
  • Develop and support the training of a consistent approach to core business analytics and data literacy across the organisation.
  • Mentor colleagues across the organisation, encouraging collaboration on the overall data and reporting roadmap and embedding cross functional processes.

 

Key Skills 

  • Strong understanding and experience in using Azure tools for Data ETL / Analytics: Functions, Logic Apps, App Service, Data Factory, Storage, secret management, App Insights and Monitoring.
  • Experience in setting up ETL services from various business applications, keeping in mind performance, scalability, cost and security.
  • 5+ years experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel/Power BI/Tableau).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, model, interpret and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • BSc in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or relevant degree desirable.
  • Possesses strong project management and presentation skills and appetite to develop.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically linking operational goals and longer term strategy.
  • A willingness to develop and grow skills and competencies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and logical approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
