Salary: £22,500 if based in Belfast or €32,500 if based in Dublin

Hours: 40 per week

The Role

Oxfam Ireland have an exciting opportunity for a friendly, innovative, energetic person who has a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and is results driven to join our team as a Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Officer.

The successful candidate will support the operation of the Oxfam Ireland volunteer programme and strategy, ensuring that best practice principles are applied to engage and support volunteers creating a valued and quality experience. Our volunteers are key and without them we would be unable to operate. We plan to grow our volunteer base and this role will be pivotal in making that change happen.

The postholder will work in close collaboration with the shop teams in recruiting and onboarding new volunteers. They will be responsible for growing the number of volunteers who can support all 46 shops by understanding individual shop requirements, increasing visibility of local volunteering opportunities and promoting the value and impact of volunteering.

  • Previous demonstrable experience of volunteer management, with strong experience in volunteer recruitment
  • The ability to consider, develop and implement new ideas to attract volunteers
  • Confident in using social media platforms
  • Ability to develop marketing materials to aid in the advertising and recruitment process
  • An understanding of the issues and challenges affecting the voluntary sector
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle, or access to transport as this role will support all our shop network across the island of Ireland
