With more than 30,000 not-for-profit clients, CCLA has more investors in this sector more than any other investment manager in the UK[1].
For over 60 years we have proudly supported organisations of all sizes, whose missions shape wider society as well as local communities — ranging from large national charities to health and care bodies, education and research institutions, grant-making foundations and more.
Our purpose is to help clients maximise their impact on society by harnessing the power of investment markets. This means we must provide a supportive and stable environment for our staff and aim to deliver trusted, responsibly managed products and services to our clients, irrespective of size.
We work to promote the common good through our distinctive approach to stewardship, which includes pushing for action on climate change, helping to address modern day slavery, and engaging with companies to prioritise and protect the mental health of their workforces.
We call this Good Investment[2].
Their Impact
At CCLA, stewardship is central to our investment philosophy. We are committed to using our voice as investors in ways that aim to help support long‑term value creation, social justice, and environmental sustainability.
Our approach recognises the priorities of our unique client base. We actively engage with the companies in which we invest and build pioneering engagement programmes designed to help kick-start the investment industry into action on underserved sustainability challenges.
Our stewardship work is broadly categorised into three key pillars – better work, better environment, and better health.
