The Salvation Army is looking for a Donor Care Executive to join its incredibly successful Fundraising Department in Ireland. We raise around £1m a year and hoping to grow this income in the next few years and the support and management of our donors play a vital role in this success.

As the Donor Care Executive, you will be responsible for managing individual giving campaigns, maintaining the accuracy of the supporter database, analysing supporter data and reporting on fundraising campaigns.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A good knowledge and experience of working with CRM databases including importing/exporting data and running standard reports.
  • Excellent data skills with high attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.
  • An ability to work across simultaneous projects with a wide variety of stakeholders and to prioritise your workload to meet set deadlines.

 

Individual Giving Appeal Management:

  • Responsible for developing, project managing and delivering individual giving appeals on annual basis, including reaching financial targets set by line management.
  • Responsible for developing, project managing and delivering donor retention plan in line with fundraising and comms strategy and annual plans.
  • Ensuring accurate administration duties for all of the individual giving appeals post opening and banking, processing credit card donations, sending thank you letters, updating database.
  • Creating campaigns on iRaiser
  • Responsible for developing, project managing and delivering annual individual donor attrition campaign in line with fundraising strategy in order to grow TSA's donor base by 5% annually.
  • Alongside communications department and their line management, play vital role in digital fundraising development for TSA.

 

Administration:

  • Administering donor gifts and thank you letters within agreed turnaround times while liaising/working with Finance and Fundraising teams
  • Recording daily income totals by campaign
  • Once a month processing regular donations
  • Project managing tax returns
  • Helping with the development of marketing materials (brochures, collection boxes, etc.)
  • Looking after Fundraising departments invoices (making sure they are stamped, signed and forwarded to finance team for payment and filed)
  • Looking after Fundraising departments office (filing, stationary orders, minding phone)
  • Admin support to a Fundraising Manager
  • Production of various analytical reports
  • Liaising with external suppliers as required
  • Seek opportunities to automate processes and tasks where possible to free up time to take on additional responsibilities

 

Database Management:

  • Liaison with Finance teams to monitor importing of new donor and prospect information
  • Managing CRM system (Alms.net) - inputting, cleaning, extracting data, report running
  • Identify opportunities for improved maintenance of donor database
  • Develop understanding of the fundraising communications traffic plan including preparation and cleaning of mailing lists for fundraising campaigns

 

Developing and Managing Key Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of excellent donor care
  • Proposing development plans and strategy for donor retention
  • Ensure that all donors and prospects receive the highest standard of care and stewardship through effective and timely communication, in person, phone, email and mail
  • Implement and maintain acknowledgement materials and processes, including maintaining up to date knowledge of best practice in the charity sectors, nationally and internationally

 

Communication with Donors:

  • Running sustainable donor development strategy to maximise long-term income and the lifetime value of each donor
  • Ensuring that “supporter care” is delivered to our donors to an excellent standard
  • Giving critical insight on our donors based on data analysis
  • Delivering a supporter care model which focuses on donor commitment and intent
  • Working closely with all other departments to support an innovative and consistent message
  • Identifying donor trends and responding with bespoke communications where appropriate
  • Contacting donors to validate, clarify and update donation details
  • Responding to donor queries about direct marketing fundraising campaigns
  • Identifying opportunities and strategies for improved donor retention and care

 

General:

  • Assist the Finance team on occasion in cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with Salvation Army policies and procedures
  • Keep up-to-date with the current issues and developments in the fundraising arena. Establish memberships and liaise with professional bodies, agencies and other associations to ensure industry best practice. Undertake training as necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding supporter information at all times, and ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation
  • Provide occasional support in the event that another team in the department has an urgent need
  • Assist with special projects as required or self-determined to enhance The Salvation Army's fundraising capacity and/or strategic goals
  • Take on ad-hoc tasks as appropriate and identify opportunities for growth within the scope of the role
